The 社会研究 curriculum prepares students for effective citizenship, while instilling an understanding of the organization and the institutions of society, and of human behavior in these institutions. The content of each discipline examines the operation and outcome of 社会, 经济, 政府和政治制度. The student of 社会 studies develops an awareness of his/her own cultural values, and examines the values of other cultures and develops a sense of continuity with the past. Acceptance into Advanced Placement classes is based on prior high school performance and teacher recommendation.
学生必须完成3.5 years of 社会 studies for graduation. Students are required to complete the following courses in order to graduate: Western Civilization, 犹太人的历史, United States 历史 and 现代犹太历史. 除了, electives are offered to seniors. Some courses require Department Chair approval.

This is a course for freshman that follows the curriculum of Western Civilization tracing the political, 社会, 经济 and intellectual patterns and institutions that have molded the modern Western world. The course begins with smaller units and gradually increases the material covered and skills required, 以所学到的为基础. The units are used to teach the skills required for high school, 强调阅读理解, 批判性思维, understanding primary sources and writing. The course begins with Ancient Greece and continues through World War II. Geography is incorporated into the course and the units include written projects and activities.

Emphasis is placed on 批判性思维 skills, understanding primary source materials, and writing. Geography is incorporated into the course and current events are discussed. This course focuses on the political, 社会, 经济 and religious history of the Jewish people. The primary texts used are Understanding Second Temple and Rabbinic Judaism by Lawrence Schiffman and the Jewish World in 中世纪 by Jon Bloomberg. 犹太人的历史 is a survey course offered sophomore year.

U.S. 历史 follows a chronological approach to the curriculum and covers the Colonial period to the present. Students learn about the political, 经济, and 社会 history of the United States. Advanced Placement Modern European 历史 is open to academically talented seniors with a strong interest in history. 现代犹太历史 involves the study of European Jewry from World War I through the creation of the State of Israel and its history. The curriculum serves as a continuation of the 犹太人的历史 course completed during sophomore year, while complementing the United States 历史 course completed during junior year. It also provides insight into modern Israel and the issues in the Middle East today. The required texts are: A 历史 of the Jews by Solomon Grayzel, and The Jew in the Modern Worldly Mendes-Flohr and Reinharz. Student access to the Internet is required, as this class is web-enhanced through a Modern Jewish history website. This semester long course is required for graduation.

Psychology 1 provides students with a basic overview of the major areas in the field of psychology, how to apply this knowledge to their own lives, and how to recognize psychological 原则 when they are encountered in everyday situations. The first semester of this course includes units on a variety of topics including psychological perspectives, 研究方法, 行为的生物学基础, 感觉和知觉, 动机和情感, 学习, 记忆和思考. Second semester units of study include human development, 压力, 应对与健康, and psychological disorders and treatments. Problem solving and 批判性思维 skills are an integral part of Business Law.
The course focuses on the law and related issues arising in a business environment. While the rights and duties arising from contractual situations are emphasized, the course also includes the areas of ethics, 民事和刑事罪行, 就业法, 法团及物业. Advanced Placement Psychology is designed to introduce students to psychology, which includes the scientific study of the behavior and mental processes of human beings and other animals. The course emphasizes the psychological facts, 原则, and phenomena associated with each of the major subfields within psychology. Students also learn about the methods psychologists use in their science and practice. This course is an elective open to seniors, and it provides students with a comprehensive overview of 经济 theory and practice.
